Anna Chew, middle, is joined by sister, Ashley Chew and mother, Lori. Back are coaches John Pryor, Cody Randolph and Eddie Hodson.

Anna-mania will get to run wild for Trevecca this coming year as the local golf prodigy has signed to take her talents to the Nashville-area university.

Anna Chew signed a letter of intent with Trevecca Nazarene University this past week as friends, family, coaches and teammates looked on. The senior will begin play at the collegiate level after her graduation this coming May. Anna is the daughter of Lori Chew and George Chew and granddaughter of Larry and Gail Redmon.

Her commitment comes after a dominant year on the links which saw her close her season, taking seventh at the state championships at Willow Brook in Manchester. She came as close as second place, just two strokes out after the first round of the state final but slid back on the last day to finish seven strokes out to the eventual winner who shot even par.

Trevecca Nazarene University (TNU) was founded in 1901 and is a private Christian liberal arts college in Nashville and is a member of the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) of the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Division II.

Anna said she her choice to go to Trevecca came because she feels she can grow both her golf game and her faith while attending the university. She feels her game can increase exponentially there after she made great improvements between her junior and senior year.

Anna has been swinging a golf club since she was seven years old and began competitive play when she was in sixth grade. She often practices five hours a day.

Her accolades from her high school career include: District 6 Large Class Champion (2019-2020), Region 3 Large Class Champion (2019-2020), TSSAA State Tournament Large Class 7th place (2019-2020), District 6 Large Class 2nd place (2018-19), Region 3 Large Class 3rd place (2018-19) and TSSAA State Tournament Large Class 18th place (2018-19)
