Major League Hosts Exciting Games

DeKalb Youth Baseball was back on the field last week with several Major League teams hitting the diamond.

 

On Tuesday, August 11, a strong Rice's Tigers team faced off with First Bank. The game would go into the four innings, but it would be the Tiger's game.

 

The Tigers came out swinging, getting seven runs in the first inning. Tucker Webb, Silas Kirksey, Aiden Taylor, Luke Johnson, JR Coronado, Evan Prichard, and Kiece Hannah each touched home base, while Jon Hendrix had the only run for First Bank.

 

The Tigers were kept off the scoreboard in teh second and third innings, while First Bank's Hendrix came across home plate again at the bottom of the third inning.

 

Kirksey scored again for the Tigers in the fourth, and as the game clock ran out, the Tigers took the 8-2 victory.

 

Aiden Taylor was the winning pitcher, while Jon Hendrix threw for First Bank, and was relieved by Logan Duke in the fourth inning.

 

That same evening, the Rangers took on First Bank in another tough game for First Bank.

 

The Rangers struck first, with Cooper Odom scoring in the first inning, but First Bank came right back with Silas Kirksey and Bryson Arnold each getting a run.

 

First Bank was up 2-1 going into the second inning, but the Rangers decided to step on the gas. Nick Murphy, Odom, Luke Johnson, Austin Vickers, Aiden Taylor, Nick Daw, and Kaleb Hale each had a run. First Bank was held to a three and out.

 

The Rangers kept up the pressure in the third inning, with Johnson, Vickers and Taylor each had another score. Jon Hendrix and Kirksey came in with runs for First Bank.

 

The fourth inning sealed the deal for the Rangers. Evan Prichard and Johnson each added to the scoreboard, and while time ran out the Rangers took the 13-4 win.

 

Evan Prichard was the winning pitcher, while Bryson Arnold threw for First Bank, and Cooper Goodwin came in, in the fourth.

 

On Friday, August 14, the Major League was back in action, with First Bank again facing off against Rice's Tigers. The game would be a big win for the Tigers.

 

Jon Hendrix put the first point on the scoreboard for First Bank in the first inning, but Nick Murphy, Tucker Webb, and Aiden Taylor each touched home for the Tigers.

 

First Bank was held to a three and out in the second inning, while Murphy and Silas Kirksey scored for the Tigers.

 

Logan Duke had a run for First Bank in the third inning, but Aiden Taylor countered for the Tigers with a run of his own.

 

First Bank was again scoreless in the fourth inning. while Murphy, Kirksey, Webb, Luke Johnson, and Taylor each touched home base for the Tigers. The Tigers would take the 11-2 win.

 

Luke Johnson was the winning pitcher, while Jon Hendrix, Bryson Arnold, and Logan Duke threw for First Bank.

 

That same evening, the Ranger Brakes Rangers took on the Tigers in a close game.

 

Nick Murphy and Cooper Odom got the Rangers on the board in the first inning, while Jon Hendrix, Tucker Webb, and Luke Johnson got runs for the Tigers.

 

Both teams were held off the scoreboard in the second inning, but Murphy, Brad Hale, and Evan Prichard each had runs for the Rangers in the third inning. The Tigers countered, with Webb, Aiden Taylor, JR Coronado each touching home plate.

 

The Rangers score one last time in the fourth inning, tying the score, but the Tigers were ready to play. Hendrix, Webb, Johnson, and Taylor each added to the score, giving the Tigers a 10-6 victory.

 

Silas Kirksey was the winning pitcher, with Aiden Taylor in relief in the third. Brad Hale and Evan Prichard threw for the Rangers.
