DTCs Levi Cantrell throws some heat in a game with Vickers Grave Service.

DeKalb Minor League teams were supposed to have ended their season this week, but teams are still manning the field, trying to catch up from some bad weather earlier in the season.
On June 25, DTC faced off in a close game with Vicker’s Grave Service. The score remained tight until the third inning when one team broke away big.
DTC started off the scoring with Colby Barnes and Conner Crabtree each coming in with runs. The second inning was dry for both teams, and it looked as if DTC might run away with the win in the third with Axel Aldino and Levi Cantrell each touching home plate.
But Vicker’s came alive at their turn to bat with Jordan Crook, Jeremy Boren Jones, J.J. Pack, Josef Osment, Logan O’Conner, and Wesley Hallum each coming in with a run.  Vicker’s would come away with the win, 6-4.
Levi Cantrell threw 39 pitches for DTC before Axel Aldino finished the game, throwing 65.  For Vicker’s, Jordan Crook pitched the entire game, throwing 71 pitches.
That same evening, Liberty State Bank took on Southern Landscape Supply in another big-scoring third inning game.
LSB took the early lead with Isaac Knowles and Levi Driver each coming in with a run in the first inning.  SLS would try to counter at their turn to bat, but only Caleb Taylor would touch home.
Another third inning drive put LSB in a firm lead with Knowles, Driver, Jordan Young, Caven Ponder, and Kobbe Clarey each getting a run. SLS mounted their own drive in the third with Taylor, Braxton Hutchings, and Isaac Cross each getting a run, but it wasn’t enough. LSB came away with the victory, 7-4.
Jordan Young was the starting pitcher for LSB, throwing 76 before Lucas hale came in and threw 20. Hutchings threw 57 pitches for SLS, before Cross ended the game, throwing 15.
On June 28, Los Lobos played Southern Landscape Supply in a game that saw most of the scoring in the first inning.
Malichi Hall and Grayson Hendrix started off the scoring for Los Lobos, each getting a run at the teams first at bat.  But it was SLS that came on strong with their at bats, with Braxton Hutchings, Matthew Vickers, Caleb Taylor, Isaac Cross, Jordan Parker, and Ben Snipes each getting home.
Hutchings would score once more for SLS in the second inning, while Kade Barnes came in during the fourth for Los Lobos. In the end, it was SLS with the win, 7-3.
David Judkins threw 52 pitches for Los Lobos before Hall ended the game, throwing 15.  For SLS, Hutchings threw 78 before Taylor came in and threw 20.  Vickers ended the game throwing 15.
