Napa downs Lawn Care in Co-ed play

Co-ed softball continued their season on Monday evening starting in the Baby Doll League when the Napa Auto Body team took on Jimmy’s Lawn Care. Napa continued their hot streak, winning 16-12. This win would mark their third in four meetings against Lawn Care.
Napa came out in the top of the inning and racked up nine runs. Desmond Nokes led off for Napa with a inside-the-park homerun. Mykenzie Wilson brought in two runs with a double into centerfield.
Nokes made a second trip to the plate in the inning and dropped down a double that  brought in two more runs. Later in the inning with runner on first and third, Austin Hosse slapped out a three-run homer.
In the bottom of the first, Lawn Care closed in on Napa, scoring four runs and cutting the lead down to five. Halley Carroll slapped out a double that brought in two runs to score.
Marcus Cripps hit a slow roller that slipped past the first baseman for a single and allowed two runs to score.
In the top of the second, all of the momentum that Napa had built in the first came to a screeching halt as they went for a three-and-out.
In the bottom of the second, Lawn Care tied the game up, scoring five runs. Ellie Cripps brought in the first two runs with a triple down the third baseline. Carroll also batted a run in with a single. Two runs were forced in when the batters were walked with the bases loaded.
In the top of the third, after the disappointing second inning, Napa answered back with a strong third-inning showing of seven runs.
Nokes led the way knocking out another homer; this time it was a three-run shot. Hosse had runners on first and second, and brought them in with a double. Deena Maxwell brought in Hosse with her triple into shallow right field. Madison Grossard brought the last run of the inning in with a single up the alley.
In the bottom of the third, Lawn Care could only bring in three runs, leaving them five shy of a comeback and had to settle for another loss.
The next game at Bill Page Ball Park was in the Junior League and showcased the Cleveland Bain Framers versus the Howling Mad. The Framers crushed Howling Mad 17-8.
In the top of the first, Carrie Carroll led off with a double. Unfortunately, Mad would have three straight outs after the lead-off batter.
In the bottom of the first, the Framers fired off with four runs. T.J. Bain was up to bat with the bases loaded and brought in one run off a single. Erin Burchfield slapped out a triple, bringing in three runs.
In the top of the second, Howling Mad scored eight runs. Mad had some help as their first four batters were walked. C. Carroll was up with the bases loaded and ripped a line drive into left field and brought in all runners with a triple.
After the triple, Mad was again helped out by poor pitching and two more batters were walked in consecutive bats. Aspen Flarity had runners at first and second, when she belted a ball to centerfield, bringing the runners into score on her way to a triple.
In the bottom of the second, the Framers  came back and took the lead, scoring eight second inning runs.
T.J. Bain led the way with a three-run homer to deep centerfield. Maddie Dickens followed closely behind with a two-run homerun.  E. Burchfield and Gage Myers each brought in a run with a pair of singles. The last run was forced in after a walk.
In the top of the third, Mad’s only hit would come from Danyell Walker with her double in shallow right field.
In the bottom of the third, Dickens scored the one and only run of the inning with a single up the alley.
In the top of the fourth, Howling Mad hit a brick wall and all offense was halted with a three-and-out. Mad returned the favor to the Framers, holding them to a three-and-out as well in the bottom of the fourth.
In the top of the fifth, the Mad were again held to a three-and-out. In the bottom of the fifth, the Framers sealed their victory by scoring four more runs.
Kailey Jones brought in two runs with a triple in deep left field. Ariel Maxwell blasted a shot into deep centerfield good for a three-run homerun.
After the inning was retired, the officials had called the game due to time restrictions.
The Senior Doll League was next to take the field with the Daystar Carpenters taking on the undefeated Webb House. The Carpenters managed to hand Webb House their first loss of the season, outscoring them 10-8.
In the top of the first, Webb House was limited to just a single hit, coming from Shauna Taylor with a shot that was blasted back to the pitcher.
In the bottom of the first, the Carpenters didn't fare much better, only grabbing two hits in the inning. Each team remained scoreless heading into the second inning.
In the top of the second, Webb House started to show signs of life as they were able to bring in two runs. Both runs came from Robert Davidson’s double into left field.
In the bottom of the second, the Carpenters ripped Webb House for  three hits. Though the bases were loaded, with no outs, the Carpenters were unable to score again as the defense for Webb picked up their play and were able to turn a double play.
In the third, each team was held to a three-and-out, making it a quick inning.
In the top of the fourth, Webb House was still struggling to find some offense and was held to only a single hit, coming from Martha Webb with a double into right field.
In the bottom of the fourth, the Carpenters hauled in three runs against Webb House and took their first lead of the game. Jacob Bandy brought in two runs off his double into deep centerfield. Tyler Ludwick brought in Bandy to score with a line drive single into shallow right field.
In the top of the fifth, Webb House took back the lead as they scored three runs. Alli Emme batted in a run with a single to centerfield. Lindsey Dickens slapped out a two-run double that gave the team the lead.
In the bottom of the fifth, the Carpenters jumped back out in front with three runs making it across home plate. Justin Bone led the team with a three-run homer into centerfield. Micah Knight also brought in a run with a double down the third baseline.
In the top of the sixth, it was another lead change as Webb House scored two more. Stephanie Rackley had runners on second and third, and brought in both runs off her single up the alley.
In the bottom of the sixth, the Carpenters once again answered the challenge and yet again took back the lead, scoring two runs.
In the top of the seventh, Shauna Taylor batted in the only run of the inning with her single into right field.
In the bottom of the seventh,  the Carpenters’ Jacob Bandy sealed their victory with a walk-off, two-run double to give Webb House their first loss of the season.
