DeKalb County High School pitching standout Steven Jennings was chosen by the Pittsburgh Pirates in the second round of the MLB draft Monday night. Jennings, the 42nd overall pick, boasts a fastball that reaches 95 mph, as well as a solid slider, curveball and changeup. He struck out 99 batters in 51.2 innings for DCHS in 2017, with a .542 ERA. Jennings signed with Ole Miss after his junior year, but Ole Miss will lose him to Pittsburgh.
