Cody Puckett was named the Tennessee Sports Writers Association (TSWA) Pitcher of the Week last week. Puckett, a former DCHS Tiger and now a senior standout on the mound at MTSU, pitched a career-topping performance against Rice last Saturday, pitching seven scoreless innings, striking out eight batters and allowing only four hits in the Blue Raiders’ 13-1 win. The Smithville native retired the final 16 of 19 batters he faced in the contest against Rice.
