The DeKalb West School Lady Bulldogs were in action last week, on the road in Auburntown to take on the Lady Knights. The game would not be kind to the visiting team.

The Lady Bulldogs made several attempts, but just had a hard time finding the basket. Lydia Brown scored the only four points for DeKalb West in the first period, taking a pair of two-point shots. Auburntown jumped out to a big lead, taking 10 points.

The second period wasn’t any better for DWS. Again it was Brown, scoring just two points, both off of free throws. Auburntown came away with eight points, giving them an 18-6 lead at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs scored six point in the third period, with Brown, Ashley Reynold, and Kendra Whitehead each getting a two-point basket. Auburntown scored eight, increasing their lead, 26-12.

DWS came out with 10 points in the fourth period, with Brown taking three two-pointers, and Gracie Griffin getting a two-pointer and two points off of free throws. Auburntown scored just four points, but secured their win, 30-22.

Brown and Griffin were two for two on free throws, while Shelby Clayborn was zero for two.
