Sad homecoming for Junior Tigers
peewee

Homecoming was tough for the junior and peewee DeKalb Youth Football League Tigers this past week but for the Senior Tigers, it was magical as they upset the formerly undefeated Smith County Owls, 6-0.

The top-ranked Owls came in with an unblemished record for the league of 11-12 year-olds. However, a strong defense left the visitors frustrated throughout the game. The lone score of the game was notched by Ryan Lyons. Defensively, J.T. Summers, Lyons and Cole Bain were stoppers. Bain had a huge sack late in the fourth quarter to help preserve the win. The Owls had one last gasp as time ran out but the Senior Tigers were able to get their backs up and stop Smith County on downs to hand them their first loss.

The homecoming win capped a day that saw the Junior Tigers lose 46-0 and the PeeWee Tigers, 55-0 on the unseasonably hot day.
