Saints blast Dibrell 44-14

The DeKalb Middle School Saints basketball squad took Dibrell down in a 44-14 game on Nov. 8.

 

Jordan Young led the saints in scoring with nine points, hitting a couple of two-pointers and a three point shot while going two-for-two on free throws. J.J. Pack and Isaac Knowles added eight points each to the DMS total, with Pack hitting two for two points and four free throws, and Knowles pegging three two-pointers and going two-for-two from the line.

 

Luke Jenkins scored seven points with two two-points shots and a three-pointer, Jacob Johnson put four points in on two-point shots, Evan Sprague and Connor Vance scored three points each, and Aiden Curtis and Matt Sweeney added one point each.

 

While the Saints trailed 5-3 at the end of the first period, a 19-4 second quarter put DeKalb ahead 22-9 at the end of the first half.

 

The saints scored 10 more points in the third, while Dibrell answered with only five, and the score was 32-14 at the beginning of the final period of play. The saints put up 12 unanswered point in the fourth, taking the win 44-14.

 

The Saints will travel to Watertown to face the Purple Tigers at 6 p.m. on Nov. 17, and will visit Warren County to play at noon on Nov. 18. They will return home to face Gordonsville on Nov. 21 at 6 p.m.
