The Saints Soccer season is underway and off to a great start with several returning players and some new faces added to the mix.  The Saints have been training since January and are ready to put it to the test as the season is officially underway.

On March 2nd the Saints traveled to Blackman Middle in Murfreesboro where they played at Blackman High School on turf for a preseason affair.  The Saints adjusted to the size of the pitch quickly, but found themselves down 1-0 at the half.  Blackman's offense had DMS on the ropes, but the Saints' defense held strong.  The game however would finish with Blackman winning the match 3-0, but the Saints gained valuable experience in a hostile environment.

Blackman proved to be the only preseason match this season as DeKalb had to cancel their Play Day scheduled for March 4th due to field conditions.

The following week the Saints traveled to conference foe White County on Tuesday, March 7, where they found a much improved White County squad.

The Saints jumped out to an early lead with a great pass from Jordan Martinez to the right foot of Jakota Estes.  The Saints lead at halftime 1-0.

White County would later score in the second half off of a Saint defensive miscommunication to make it tied up 1-1.  The Saints continued to attack and finally found the back of the net off an Eli Redmon goal off of a rebound and win their first conference game 2-1.

JV would also go on to win 1-0 with Saint 6th Grader Dylan Granados with the lone goal.

The same week the Saints played host for their first home game of the season versus conference rival Overton County on Friday, March 10.

After Overton County scored first, the Saints dominated from that point forward and won this one 8-2.

Christian Hernandez scored four as the Saints roll.  Each goal included an assist and were all team goals.

The scoring didn't stop there as the JV win their game 9-0 behind a hat trick from Hartley Hannah.

The Saints have two home games this week on March 14 versus Cumberland County and March 17 versus Thurman Francis.  Both contests begin at 6 P.M. with JV after.
