The Tigers had a rough night during last Wednesday’s District Tournament opener, falling behind 10-0 at the top of the first inning, including a grand slam home run by Cole Gentry.

The Warriors would top off their score at the top of the fifth, scoring four more and sealing the 14-0 shutout against DeKalb.

Evan Prichard only went two-thirds of an inning but allowed six runs on four hits, walked one a hit a batter. Elliot Barnes came on for two and one-third innings of relief and allowed four runs on four hits, struck out one, and walked four. Silas Kirksey took over for an inning and one-third, and surrendered two runs on four hits, while Kollin Young allowed two runs on three hits in the final two-thirds of an inning.

The loss sent the Tigers to the loser's bracket, where they would face Cumberland County the following Friday, in an elimination game.

In that game, the Jets would take the early lead, scoring one run at the bottom of the first, and two more at the bottom of the second.

DeKalb would finally get on the board at the top of the fourth, after Ty Webb singled on a grounder to center, followed by a sacrifice to the pitcher by Tucker Webb as Ty took second. Prichard took a base with an HBP, then Luke Johnson grounded out to second as Ty touched home. Kollin Young, next singled on a grounder to center as Prichard scored. The Tigers had cut the lead, 3-2, but that would be the last runs of the season for DeKalb.

The Jets topped off the scoreboard in the fourth with one more run, and would hold on through seven innings for the 4-2 win. Porter Hancock threw one and one-third innings allowing three hits and three runs, striking out one and walking two. Luke Johnson came in for four and two third innings, allowing three hits and one run, striking out seven and walking one.
