Machine pitch was underway on Monday night when the Center Hill Nursery Knockouts took on the Four Season Sharks.
The Sharks took a bite out of the Knockouts with a 7-2 victory.
In the first inning, each team tallied one run across the board. The Sharks took the lead in the top of the second when they added three runs to their total. The Knockouts were unable to put together any offense in the inning.
The Sharks added to their total in the top of the fourth inning, increasing their lead with two more runs. The Knockouts scraped up enough offense to bring in a run in the bottom of the fourth.
In the top of the fifth, the Sharks added one more run to their lead just for comfort, then were able to shut down the Knockouts and seal the victory by not allowing a base hit.
Just across the way another game was underway. Paul Cantrell’s Custom Paint went up against the Dairy Queen Shakers.
The Shakers destroyed the Custom team 18-2, ending the game in just over three innings.
Custom Paint started the top of the inning with two runs coming in to score. The Shakers answered back with four runs.
In the second inning, Custom Paint was held scoreless, yet the Shakers still found a way to topple their opponents and score six more runs.
In the third inning, the Shakers again held their opponents to zero runs scored and burnt the Custom Paint crew for eight runs.
The Custom Paint squad had one more chance in the top of the fourth to collect any sort of offense. No such luck was found and the inning ended without a base hit and the gamed ended with the Shakers dominating the Custom crew.
