While the Tigers game was postponed when snow began to fall Thursday night, the Lady Tiger basketball team had time to work in a win in a close contest with Trousdale County before the Yellow Jackets loaded up for the trip back to Hartsville.
The Lady Tigers took a 45-42 win from the Lady Jackets, taking the lead early and holding on despite numerous threats from the Trousdale squad. DeKalb enjoyed a 15-8 lead at the end of the first, and led 25-18 at the halftime buzzer.
The Lady Yellow Jackets gave DeKalb a run for their money in the second half, and while they came within two points of catching the Lady Tigers, time ran out in the third with DeKalb leading 28-24. A close final period saw The Lady Tigers hold on to a 45-42 advantage for the win.
Hanah Panter led the DeKalb offense with 15 points, nailing three three-pointers in the process. Joni Robinson scored nine, sinking three field goals as well.
Macy Hedge added seven points for the Lady Tigers, going 4-for-4 from the free-throw line, Emme Colwell put five points in, and Sophie Cripps scored four. Mya Ruch tacked on three points for DeKalb, and Maddison Parsley added two.
