The DCHS soccer Tigers routed Smith County in an 8-2 contest last Tuesday evening. DeKalb put three in the net in the first four minutes, essentially enough to win the game, then went on to score five more times.
Cristobal Flores led the DeKalb effort with four goals, opening things up with a score in the first minute, then adding one in the 43rd, 44th, and 58th minutes of the match.
Miguel Rodriguez followed with a score at the two-minute mark. He put two more on the books before the game was over, in the 53rd and 73rd minutes. He also lent an assist in the 43rd minute.
Brandon Leiser added another Tiger goal in the 4th minute, and goalie Jose Torres stymied the Owls attempts to score with six saves.
Nicholas Tayse was the sole scorer for the Owls, with goals in the 25th and 32nd minutes of the game.
The Tigers will travel to face the Smyrna Bulldogs at 5 p.m. on April 2, then will meet the Warriors in White County on April 7 at 6 p.m.
