The DCHS Tiger soccer team met Cumberland County in Crossville on March 27, coming home with a 2-0 victory.

The match went scoreless until Brandon Leiser put the first goal in the net for the Tigers at the 44 minute mark. His score was soon followed by a goal from the foot of Cristobal Flores, with an assist from Micah Merriman, at 52 minutes.

Goalie Jose Torres contributed eight saves to the DeKalb defensive effort to seal the win for the Tigers.

The boys then traveled to Smyrna on April 2, and weren’t as lucky.

While DeKalb scored one goal, completed by Miguel Rodriguez and assisted by Micah Merriman, the Smyrna squad managed to score seven times, bringing the final tally to 7-1.

The team will host the York Dragons on April 9 at 6:30 p.m., then will travel to Friendship Christian to participate in tournament play on April 11-12. They will then travel to Murfreesboro to face Central Magnet on April 14 at 5 p.m.
