Teams battle in Minor League
5sports runback
Liberty State Banks Levi Driver gets caught in a run-down between third and home when he gets tagged out by catcher Grayson Hendrix.

There were some heavy hitters and a close game last week in Minor League action.
On June 18, Southern Landscape Supply faced off with DTC in a game with some big scoring from the SLS bench.
After what seemed to be a stalemate in the first inning, SLS came alive in the second with Braxton Hutchings, Isaac Cross, Garrett Hayes, Ben Snipes, Andrew Vickers, Matthew Keaton, and Dylan Trapp each coming in with a run.
DTC’s scoring also came in the second, but with only Conner Crabtree, Michael White, and Eli Judkins touching home plate.
SLS matched their previous inning’s score in the third with Cross, Vickers, Keaton, and Trapp joining Caleb Taylor, Jordan Parker, and Landon Cripps for runs.  DTC’s Crabtree scored again in the third for DTC with Levi Cantrell also touching home plate.
Braxton Hutchings threw 52 pitches for SLS before Isaac Cross came in and threw 30.  DTC’s Levi Cantrell was the starting pitcher, throwing 38, before Axel Aldino threw 67.
SLS got the win, 14-5.
That same day, Los Lobos met Vicker’s Grave Service in a close game.
Los Lobos took the early lead with Malichi Hall and Grayson Hendrix each coming in with a run in the first inning.  Jordan Crook touched home in the first for Vicker’s.
Logan O’Conner would tie the score with a run in the second inning for Vicker’s, but Los Lobos’ Holden Hendrix and Kevin Saylor came back to each score in the third.  Not to be outdone, Crook, Jeremy Boren Jones, and J.J. Pack each also came in with a run in the third for Vicker’s.
Jathan Willoughby would tie the game again in the fourth inning after he touched home plate, but Isaac Magormich came in with the winning score in the sixth inning to give Vicker’s the victory, 6-5.
David Judkins threw 51 pitches for Los Lobos.  Malichi Hall came in and threw 76, and Jathan Willoughby ended the game throwing 11.  Jordon Crook was the starting pitcher for Vicker’s, throwing 75 pitches.  J.J. Pack ended the game throwing 49.
On June 21, Liberty State Bank took on Los Lobos in a one-sided game.
Malichi Hall and Gage Trapp started off the game’s scoring in the first inning with each getting a run.
LSB’s Jake Braswell scored the team’s one and only run in the third inning, matched three times by Los Lobos with Hall, Jaden Johnson, and Kevin Saylor each touching home plate.  Holden Hendrix would top off the scoring for Los Lobos in the fourth, giving the team the 6-1 win.
Caven Ponder was the starting pitcher for LSB, throwing 72 pitches.  Isaac Knowles finished the game throwing 40.  David Judkins was the winning pitcher, throwing 72 pitches before Holden Hendrix came in and threw 40.
That same evening, Vicker’s Grave Service faced Southern Landscape Supply in yet another nail-biter of a game.
J.J. Pack started off the game’s scoring, giving Vicker’s a run in the first inning. But SLS came right back with Braxton Hutchings, Caleb Taylor, and Isaac Cross each getting runs in the first.
Jordon Crook got Vicker’s a little closer by scoring a run in the third inning, but again SLS also scored with Hutchings and Matthew Vickers each getting a run.
Vicker’s made things interesting in the fourth inning, coming on strong with Isaac Robinson, Joseph Osment, Logan O’Conner, Justing Boren, and Wesley Hallum each touching home plate.  But with SLS up to bat, Hutchings scored once again in the fourth, as well as Dylan Trapp and Matthew Keaton.
SLS took the win, 8-7.
Isaac Robinson threw 75 pitches for Vicker’s before J.J. Pach came in and threw 36.  For SLS, Braxton Hutchings was the starter, throwing 64, before Isaac Cross came in and threw 21.  Matthew Vickers ended the game, throwing 15.
