The DeKalb County tennis team has ended its season, the squad’s top seed stopped in the second round of the district tournament.
Lance Davis made it further than anyone else on either DeKalb squad during the indivual portion of the state tournament, losing in the second round of the district singles category.
Prior to the individual events, the boys squad had made it to the district semi-finals before bowing out to Rhea County. The individual events saw Ethan Cantrell losing in the first round in singles while he and Dosson Medlin, along with Garrett Hayes and Justin Washer, also bowed out in the first round in double competition.
On the girls side, the team of Catherine Caplinger and Faith Judkins made it to the second round of the district tournament in doubles before being eliminated while Jhoany Gaspar and Daisy Hernandez lost in the first round of girls doubles. Both Marlene Coronilla and Hannah McBride lost in the first round of girls singles on the district level.
