The DeKalb County Tiger Quarterback Club will team up with Florence and White Ford on Aug. 4 to try and raise some money for the program and allow Tiger fans to test drive a new car.
The Tigers will scrimmage Friendship Christian after the Ford drive event, but fans are encouraged to come out early and test drive a new Ford from Florence and White. A donation to the football program will be made every time a car is driven. The event will be held in the DCHS parking lot.
“We are having a Ford Drive Event again,” Tiger Head Coach Steve Trapp told the Review. “This as a fundraiser for our program. It will be on Aug. 4 beginning at 1:00 p.m.”
Florence and White Ford is offering DCHS football the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars with their annual test drive program prior to a scrimmage game against Friendship Christian. Tiger football fans can earn money for the DCHS football program by simply test-driving a new Ford at the school.
According to the Ford Motor Company website at (https://forddrive4ur.com/), for every valid test drive taken in a Ford vehicle, Ford will donate $20 to the participating school or community organization up to $6,000 per event. The goal is to raise the maximum donation of $6,000 at every Drive 4 UR School or Drive 4 UR Community event.
After the Tigers play Clay County in the Upperman Jamboree on Aug. 11, football season will begin with two road games, starting with DCHS traveling to face the Warren County Pioneers on Aug. 18. The Tigers will travel to Baxter to challenge Upperman on Aug. 25, and Stone Memorial will visit Vanhooser Stadium on Sept. 1.
