Test drive a Ford, raise money for DCHS football

The DeKalb County Tiger football team will team up with Florence and White Ford Friday afternoon to try and raise some money for the program and allow Tigers fans to test drive a new car.

 

The Tigers will scrimmage Friendship Christian at 6:30 p.m. on Friday (Aug. 5), but fans are encouraged to come out early and test drive a new Ford from Florence and White. A donation to the football program will be made every time a car is driven.

 

“We are having a Ford Drive Event again,” Tiger Head Coach Steve Trapp told the Review. “This as a fundraiser for our program. It will be on August 5 beginning at 3:30 p.m. We are scrimmaging that night as well, and we are planning on having food available, and make a great event out of this. Last year we called it Football Family Night, but this we would like for it to be a Football Community Night with great cars, great food, great entertainment, and great football.” and are offering DCHS Football the opportunity to raise thousands of dollars with their annual test drive program on Friday, August 5 prior to a scrimmage game against Friendship Christian. Tiger football fans can earn money for the DCHS football program by simply test-driving a new Ford at the school.

 

BBQ meals will be served, as well as ice cream.

 

According to the Ford Motor Company website at (https://forddrive4ur.com/), for every valid test drive taken in a Ford vehicle, Ford will donate $20 to the participating school or community organization up to $6,000 per event. The goal is to raise the maximum donation of $6,000 at every Drive 4 UR School or Drive 4 UR Community event.

 

Football season will begin with a three-game home stand, starting with DCHS facing the Warren County Pioneers on Aug. 19. Stone Memorial will come to Vanhooser Stadium on Aug. 26, and York Institute will visit on Sept. 2. The Tigers will then play three road games, at Cumberland County on Sept. 9, at Smith County on Sept. 16, and at Macon County on Sept. 23.

 

The Tigers will return home to host Sequatchie County on Sept. 30 and then will travel to Grundy County on Oct. 7. DeKalb will play at home against the Upperman Bees on Oct. 21 will travel to Cannon County on Oct. 28 to wrap up the regular season. All games start at 7 p.m.
