Three DCHS Basketball Players Receive District Honors

District awards were announced last week with three DeKalb County players being named. Senior Tiger Conner Close has been named to the 1st Team All-District while Senior Lady Tiger Ella VanVranken was named to the 2nd Team All-District. Sophomore Lady Tiger Chloe VanVranken received Honorable Mention.

A list of all the awards for TSSAA District 7-3A are as follows:

Girls Basketball

MVP - Celeste Reed (White County)

All-District First Team - Ellie Butler (Livingston Academy), Sydney Wilhite (Cumberland County), Ava Jones (White County), Aliyah Hawkins (Cumberland County), and Taylor Dolente (Upperman).

All-District Second Team - Kortney Headrick (Stone Memorial), Gracie Butler (Upperman), Ella VanVranken (DeKalb County), Keely Mullins (Livingston Academy), and Gracie Clark (White County).

All-District Third Team - Kailee Waldo (Stone Memorial), Mallie-Gene Coleman (Livingston Academy), Addie Howard (Stone Memorial), Bella Mullins (Upperman), and Jalynn Baldwin (Cumberland County).

Honorable Mention - Chloe VanVranken (DeKalb County), Bella Winningham (White County), Lauren Clark (Cumberland County), Rachel Houston (Stone Memorial), Bella Stiles (Upperman), and Lakelyn Grasty (White County).

Freshman of the Year - Sydney Wilhite (Cumberland County).

All-Freshman Team - Lauren Clark (Cumberland County), Ashlyn Selby (White County), Sadie South (Upperman), Mia Hughes (Livingston Academy), and Makenzie King (Livingston Academy).

Defensive MVP - Aliyah Hawkins (Cumberland County).

All-Defensive Team - Ava Jones (White County), Gracie Clark (White County), Mallie-Gene Coleman (Livingston Academy), Bella Mullins (Upperman), and Kailee Waldo (Stone Memorial).
