Up-and-coming basketball players are encouraged the Tiger Basketball Camp which will be held May 28-30 for students K-8 at the high school gymnasium.

“In attending the Tiger Basketball Camp, young players will have the opportunity to work with staff and players, learning the importance of developing fundamentals of basketball to improve as players,” said Tiger Coach John Sanders who will be overseeing the camp along with Lady Tiger Coach Danny Fish.

Doors will open daily at 8:30 a.m. and walk-ins are welcome although it is encouraged that attendees pre-register by May 26 to ensure getting a proper sized t-shirt. Cost for the camp is $50 and campers will get a t-shirt and basketball. Students will have to be signed in and out each day. Those wanting to pre-register may do so by making their checks payable to DCHS Basketball and mailing them to Tiger Basketball Camp, attention John Sanders, DeKalb County High School, 1130 West Broad Street, Smithville TN 37166.

The camp will include individual instruction, five-on-five games, skills competitions and will teach shooting, ball handling, offense and defense, teamwork, agility, position play, rebounding, passing and sportsmanship.
