Members of the DeKalb County Tiger football team were rewarded for their record-breaking season a baker’s dozen region awards this past week.
Taking the top offensive honor in the region was Tiger quarterback Axel Aldino who was named Most Valuable Offensive Player as the junior signal caller helped lead his squad to the third round of the playoffs, scoring wins over Tullahoma, 45-34 and former state champion Marshall County, 28-24 before bowing out to Nolensville, 42-6. This season marked the first time DeKalb County has ever made the third round of the state playoffs as they finished second in their region and got to host a home playoff game.

On the other side of the ball, Dylan Denson was tapped as Most Outstand Defensive Lineman while behind him on defense, Isaac Knowles was honored as Most Outstanding Defensive Back. Desmond Nokes, who was on fire during the playoffs, was honored as Most Outstand Returner for his special teams play.
