Jacob Dodd photo--Quarterback Tyler Cantrell rares back to throw a pass in practice Monday as the Tigers get ready to start their season.

It's only nine days until the Tigers take on the Pioneers for opening day in Warren County to mark the official start of football season.
The Tigers take on Clay County at Upperman on Friday for a tune-up before the big day. Game time is 6 p.m.
You don’t want to miss the annual Tigers Pep Rally on Thursday, Aug. 17, the day before the game. Join the Smithville Review to help get everyone fired up the night before the big game! This free event allows fans a sneak peek of the players, hear from Tiger head coach Steve Trapp and Principal Randy Jennings talk about the upcoming season, see the DCHS band perform and show the team how much support they have from their fans.
The Smithville Football tabloid will be in the Aug. 16 issue, a day before the pep rally so make sure to get a copy for all 2017 football facts and information.
