The DCHS Tigerette softball team blistered Cannon County 12-0, while Emme Colwell recorded a no-hitter from the mound Wednesday.
DeKalb scored 12 runs on 12 hits, committing no errors. The Tigerettes put three runs on the board in the first inning, three more in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth before the mercy rule ended the contest.
Lexie Bates and Kenzie France hit singles, Myranda Bailiff, Lydia Brown, and Maddison “Mad Dog” Parsley swatted two singles each. Kayley Caplinger, Emme Colwell, and France hit doubles, and Colwell blasted a triple as well.
The Tigerettes took Macon County down 9-3 in Smithville Tuesday.
DeKalb scored nine runs on 16 hits and committed two errors, while Macon put up three runs on six hits and committed two errors.
Macon was up 2-0 after the first inning, and added one in the top of the third. The Tigerettes finally answered in the bottom of the third, when they scored two, to bring the score to 3-1 Macon.
The score stuck until DeKalb brought in two more in the fifth, and the Tigerette defense held while DeKalb scored five more runs in the sixth.
Kayley Caplinger and Joni Robinson each hit a single in the game, while Lexie Bates and Kenzie France hit two singles each. Megan Walker and Hannah Panter smacked a single and a double each, Kristina Bain blasted two singles, a double and a triple, and Myranda Bailiff ripped a single and a homerun.
The Tigerettes will travel to Cookeville on April 3 to play at 5 p.m., will host Smith County at 4:30 p.m. on April 4, and will play Upperman in Baxter at 4:30 p.m. on April 6.
