The Tigerettes continued their domination of District 8-AA with a 16-0 win at York Institute on April 12.
Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger shut the Lady Dragons down on two hits, while blasting a homerun, two singles and a double for DeKalb’s offensive effort. The Tigerettes scored 16 runs on 10 hits and committed no errors.
Lexi Bates and Katie Hall both slapped doubles for DeKalb, while Allison Maynard hit a single and a double, and Hannah Walker added two singles. The Tigerettes scored twice in the first inning, five times in the second, put in two more in the third, and broke loose with seven runs in the fourth inning to seal the deal.
DeKalb leads District 8AA with a 9-0 district record.
The Tigerettes met Central Magnet on April 14 in Smithville, taking the team from Murfreesboro 6-0.

Kayley Caplinger logged yet another win from the mound, striking out 11 batters and holding CM to one hit while tossing another shutout. DeKalb scored six runs on nine hits, committing no errors.
The Tigerettes put one run on the board in the first inning, two in the second, one in the third, and two more in the fourth to take the win.
Caplinger swatted homerun and a single for the DeKalb offense, while Allison Maynard and Joni Robinson cut in with a triple each. Tyra Graham, Lexi Bates, Dani Meadows, Hannah Walker and Hanah Panter all singled.
The Tigerettes will travel to Livingston Academy tomorrow, April 21, to face the Lady Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. in a district match up. LA is 1-1 in district play.
