The Tigerettes softball team took both games of a double header at Warren County on April 21 by a score of 2-0.

 

DeKalb scored one run in the first inning and one run in the second of the first contest against the Lady Pioneers. The ladies scored two runs on seven hits and committed one error in the game. Warren posted one hit and committed one error.

 

Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger, struck out six Lady Pioneers, while Tyra Graham blasted two triples and a single for the Tigerette offense. Dani Meadows, Kayley Caplinger, Katie Hall, and Hannah Walker each put in a single for DeKalb.

 

In game two, DeKalb repeated a 2-0 win, putting one run across in the first inning and one in the third. DeKalb scored the two runs on seven hits, and committed one error. Warren County had three hits and committed one error.

 

Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger posted five strikeouts, while Loren Cripps hit three singles, Dani Meadows put in two singles, and Tyra Graham and Kayley Caplinger singled once.

 

The team traveled to Smith County on April 23, pounding the Lady Owls 11-1.

 

DeKalb scored 11 times on thirteen hits and committed no errors. Smith scored once on five hits with no errors.

 

The Tigerettes scored once in the first inning, broke loose with six runs in the second, and followed up with four runs in the sixth. Smith County scored their lone run in the fourth.

 

Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger struck out ten Lady Owls to help out with the win. Loren Cripps put a triple and a single on the books for the DeKalb offense, while Katie Hall and Myranda Bailiff both slapped a double and single. Dani Meadows dropped three singles in, and Tyra Graham, Allison Maynard, Lexi Bates, and Hannah Walker each contributed a single.

 

The Tigerettes then took a 4-1 win at Livingston Academy on April 24.

 

DeKalb scored four runs on ten hits and committed two errors. The Lady Wildcats scored one run on six hits and committed one error.

 

The Tigerettes scored once in the first inning, twice in the second, and once in the sixth. Livingston scored one run in the third inning.

 

Katie Hall slammed a homerun for the Tigerette offense, while Tyra Graham put in one double and one single. Loren Cripps hit two singles in the game, and Dani Meadows, Kayley Caplinger, Myranda Bailiff, Allison Maynard, and Lexi Bates each hit a one-bagger. Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger posted nine strikeouts.

 

The DeKalb County Tigerettes suffered a 4-2 loss at Macon County on April 26.

 

Macon County scored four runs on five hits, committing no errors, while DeKalb scored two runs on four hits and committed six errors.

 

The Tigerettes put both runs across the plate in the fifth inning. Macon scored three times in the third and once in the sixth inning.

 

Allison Maynard hit a double in the game. Dani Meadows, Kayley Caplinger, and Myranda Bailiff each contributed singles.

 

Post-season action will begin on May 1 for the Tigerettes, with district tournaments beginning in Baxter.
