Tigerettes exterminate Lady Bees

The Tigerette softball team finished up the regular season with a win and a loss this week.

 

The ladies from DCHS gave Upperman an 8-5 beating in Smithville on Senior Night Monday.

 

Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger struck out eleven Lady Bees, allowing five runs on eight hits. DeKalb scored eight runs on nine hits, committing two errors.

 

The Tigerettes scored two runs in the first inning, three in the second, two more in the fourth, and another in the fifth. Upperman scored a run in the first, fourth, and sixth innings, and added two in the seventh.

 

Kenzie France led the Tigerettes with a homerun and single. Hannah Panter smacked a double and single. Joni Robinson doubled, and Kayley Caplinger, Lexie Bates, Emme Colwell, and Myranda Bailiff hit a single each.

 

The Tigerettes dropped a 4-2 game to Cookeville in Smithville on Tuesday.

 

DeKalb scored two runs on three hits, committing two errors. The Lady Cavaliers scored four runs on five hits and committed one error.

 

Cookeville scored three runs in the fourth inning and one run in the fifth. The Tigerettes scored two runs in the sixth inning.

 

Kenzie France hit a single and double, and Megan Walker doubled.
