The DCHS Tigerettes continued to show their dominance on the field with two more wins last week. One a blowout against York, while another gave a DeKalb pitcher a no hitter.
On Mar. 24, the Tigerettes were at home, where they took on York in a make-up game that had originally been scheduled for Mar. 17. Right from the beginning the game went the Tigerettes’ way.
DeKalb scored 12 runs in the first inning, while keeping York away from home plate. The Tigerettes were even better in the second inning, getting another 19 runs, and again keeping York scoreless. The girls kept York scoreless again in the top of the third, ending the game.
The Tigerettes had 31 runs, on 14 hits, with zero errors, while York was held to only one hit and three errors. Lauren Colwell was the winning pitcher.
Danielle Tyson had a single, a double, and a triple in the game, while Katie Hall had a single and a triple. Chelsey Brannon had a single and a double, while Loren Cripps had a double. Tyra Graham, Reagan Patton, Kayley Caplinger, and Shauna Taylor each had a single, while Lauren Colwell had two singles.
On Mar. 27, the Tigerettes were back in action, this time on the road against Cannon County. The game would be a battle with only one run scored, but a DeKalb pitcher would earn a no hitter.
The game remained scoreless until the sixth inning when DeKalb finally came in with a run. DeKalb would hold off Cannon in the seventh to get the win.
The Tigerettes had one run, on six hits, and one error, while Cannon had no runs, no hits, and no errors. Kayley Caplinger was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts and a no hitter.
