The Tigerettes and Wildcats combined for 30 runs in their high scoring affair which saw DeKalb have to hold on to a 10-run lead down the stretch as the Livingston Academy tried to claw back in it in the waning innings.

Behind five-run third and fourth innings and a four-run fifth, the Tigerettes held a 14-4 advantage going into the bottom of the fifth. However, that is when the Lady Wildcats caught fire, plating three in the home half of the inning and then scoring five more in the sixth. In the end, it wasn’t enough for the hosts as they could come no closer than four runs in a 17-13 loss to the Tigerettes.

Helping spur on the highest scoring tilt of the Tigerette season were 10 combined field errors, shared equally with five for each team.

Emme Colwell ended up picking up the win from the pitcher circle as Livingston was able to get 11 hits during the game. DeKalb had 18 hits including a homerun by Allison Maynard, triples by Megan Walker and doubles by Kelly Roberts and Kenzie France. Meanwhile, Maddison Parsley had four hits and Colwell held her cause picking up two singles at the plate.

The Tigerette scoring barrage carried forward into their game against Cannon County although the Lady Lions didn’t get the memo as they were blanked by DeKalb 14-0.

It took the Tigerettes just four innings to tame the Lions, the game stopped after the top of five due to the run rule. The Tigerettes out hit their visitors 13-5 and Hailey Redmon picked up the win from the circle. Kenzie France added a home run to the mix during the route.

The Tigerettes stand 16-8 overall with a 9-1 district record; their only district loss was to Upperman early this month. Upperman leads the district with a perfect 12-0 record. DeKalb will travel to Cookeville Tuesday for a non-district tilt.
