The DCHS Tigerette softball team continued to steamroll the competition last week, dominating a doubleheader against Warren County in McMinnville Friday. DeKalb won the first game of the series 5-0, then returned to give the Lady Pioneers an 11-0 drumming in the second game.
Kayley Caplinger was the winning pitcher in both games.
The Tigerettes scored five runs on eight hits and committed no errors in the first contest. Warren County was shut out on three hits and committed one error. Tyra Graham hit a single and double for DeKalb, while Kayley Caplinger put in a double as well.
Myranda Bailiff slapped two singles, and Katie Hall, Allison Maynard and Hannah Walker hit a single each. The Tigerettes scored three runs in the fourth inning and two runs in the fifth to clinch the win.
In the second game, the Tigerettes scored 11 runs on 13 hits, committing no errors. Warren County was again shut out on three hits, committing three errors.
Tyra Graham and Kayley Caplinger both doubled in the contest, while Joni Robinson put three singles in for DeKalb. Lexi Bates and Myranda Bailiff hit two singles each. Maddison Parsley, Katie Hall, Dani Meadows and Allison Maynard all singled as well.
DeKalb scored four runs in the first inning, four in the second, two in the third and one run in the fourth.
The Tigerettes slipped by Livingston Academy in a 5-4 game in Smithville on March 30 in a makeup game from March 24.
The Tigerettes scored five runs on nine hits, committing two errors. Livingston scored four runs on five hits and committed no errors. DeKalb scored two runs in the third inning, one run in the sixth and two in the seventh. LA put one run on the board in the fourth inning and three in the sixth.
Caplinger struck out 11 LA batters on her way to another win on the mound.
Tyra Graham smacked a single and triple for the Tigerette offensive effort, while Katie Hall hit a single and a double. Caplinger slipped two singles in, and Lexi Bates, Myranda Bailiff, and Hanah Panter each hit a single as well.
The Tigerettes traveled to Cannon County to give the Lionettes a 16-0 pounding in a March 29 makeup game as well.
Kayley Caplinger threw a three-inning no hitter, shutting the Lionettes out while recording four strikeouts. Cannon committed three errors in the contest.
DeKalb scored 16 runs on 16 hits, committing no errors in the game. The Tigerettes scored three runs in the first inning, four in the second, and nine runs in the third.

And Myranda Bailiff pounded a single and a double. Allison Maynard and Hanah Panter hit a double each, while Dani Meadows and Maddie Dickens had two singles each.
The undefeated Tigerettes will host Upperman on April 7 at 4:30 p.m., and will participate in the Plateau Invitational in Crossville Friday and Saturday.
