Tigerettes shine in pre-season playday with a victory

On Saturday afternoon the Tigerettes softball team kicked things off with a pre-season playday with a double header against Watertown at noon, followed by a 2 p.m. game against Lebanon. Both games were in Lebanon where the Tigerettes walked away with two wins, beating Watertown 8-0 and just slipping past Lebanon 4-3.In the Watertown game, the Tigerettes chose to defend, as they took the field with pitcher Shauna Taylor taking the mound.The first batter for Watertown was disposed of quickly as she flew out to Lorn Cripps in right field.The second batter found some luck as she reached first base on a walk from Shauna Taylor. The third batter ripped a single down the alley and the runner on first made her way to second.The fourth batter ground out to short stop Brooke Hutchings, who tagged a runner on her way to third and gunned out another runner for a force out on second for a double play ending the top of the first.In the bottom of the first Alex Meadows led off at bat, and flew out to left field.
