Tigerettes take first two rounds of district tourney

Allison Maynard led the Tigerettes with two doubles and a single against the Lionettes, and two singles and a double against Central Magnet.
The Tigerettes came out on top of the Cannon County Lionettes 15-3 in the first round of the District 8-AA Softball Tournament Sunday in Baxter. The Tigerettes jumped out to a convincing 6-0 lead in the first inning of play, relaxed a bit with only one run in the second, third and fifth, then blasted six more runs in the sixth. Cannon scored all three of their runs in the fifth.
