The Tigerettes shut York Institute down in both games of a doubleheader Tuesday in Smithville.

 

DeKalb defeated the Lady Dragons 11-0 in the first game. The Tigerettes scored seven runs in the first inning, and added four more in the fourth to ensure the win.

 

Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger held York hitless, striking out eight Lady Dragons. DeKalb scored 11 runs on 12 hits, committing no errors in the contest.

 

Kelly Roberts hammered out a single and a triple for the Tigerettes, while Joni Robinson pounded a double and a triple, and Lexie Bates dropped a single and a double in. Caplinger, Kristena Bain and Maddison Parsley all singled, Myranda Bailiff and Allison Maynard smacked doubles, and Kenzie France blasted a homerun.

 

The Tigerettes gave York a 14-0 beating in the second game of the series, scoring two runs in the first, nine in the second, two more in the third and one in the fourth. Winning pitcher Emme Colwell hurled a one-hit game, and DeKalb scored 14 runs on 14 hits, committing no errors.

 

Allison Maynard led the DeKalb offense with a single, a double and a home run, and Caplinger ripped a homer as well. France put in a single and a double, Bailiff swatted a double, and Bates and Parsley hit two singles each for the Tigerettes, while Colwell, Madison Whitehead and Hanah Panter all singled. Myranda Bailiff capped the Tigerette effort with a double.

 

DeKalb scored eight runs in the first, one in the second, one in the third and five in the fourth.

 

The Tigerettes then trekked to Woodbury to hand the Cannon Lionettes a 15-0 drumming on Wednesday.

 

Winning pitcher Madison Whitehead allowed Cannon no runs on one hit, while DeKalb scored 15 runs on 10 hits and committed one error. The Tigerettes scored 8 runs in the first inning, one run in the second, another in the third and five more in the fourth.

 

Panter lifted a homerun and a single for the Tigerettes. Robinson hit a triple, and Bailiff contributed two doubles. Parsley added a double for DeKalb, while Bates, France, Maynard, and Lydia Brown singled.

 

The Tigerettes then shut out Central Magnet 7-0 in Murfreesboro on Thursday.

 

DeKalb scored seven runs on eight hits and committed three errors, scoring two runs in the second inning and five runs in the third. Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger struck out eleven CM batters, giving up two hits and no runs.

 

Allison Maynard hammered a homer for the Tigerettes, while Kristina Bain tripled and Caplinger hit a double and two singles. Emme Colwell pounded two doubles, and Kenzie France put in a single.

 

Meanwhile, DeKalb went 4-2 in the Gibbs Tournament last weekend.

 

In the first game, on Friday, the Tigerettes took a 5-1 loss to Gibbs High School. Kayley Caplinger was the losing pitcher, giving up five runs on seven hits.

 

DeKalb scored one run on six hits and committed three errors. Gibbs put a runner across the plate in the first inning, two in the third, and two in the fourth. DeKalb’s lone run came in the fourth inning on a Caplinger homer.

 

Lexie Bates, Emme Colwell, and Megan Walker each hit singles for the Tigerettes. Caplinger hammered out a homerun and two singles.

 

In the second game on Friday, DeKalb took Powell down 4-3.

 

Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher, allowing three runs on seven hits. The Tigerettes scored four runs on eight, committing one error. DeKalb scored two runs in the sixth and two runs in the seventh, while Powell scored one run in the third, one in the fifth, and one in the seventh inning.

 

Megan Walker, Lexie Bates, Allison Maynard, Kenzie France, and Kristina Bain all singled for DeKalb. Myranda Bailiff hit two singles and Kayley Caplinger pounded another homerun.

 

The Tigerettes opened up on Saturday with a 12-1 win over Knox Central.

 

DeKalb County scored twelve runs on eight hits and committed no errors. Knox Central scored one run on two hits, committing four errors. Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher.

 

The Tigerettes scored five runs in the first inning, six in the second, and one in the third. Knox Central scored one run in the first inning.

 

Kristina Bain put two singles in, while Allison Maynard, Kenzie France, and Joni Robinson singled as well. Emme Colwell and Hanah Panter both doubled, and Kayley Caplinger placed another homerun.

 

In the next game, the Tigerettes beat Anderson County 2-1.

 

DeKalb scored two runs on four hits and committed three errors. Anderson County scored one run on two hits and committed one error.

 

Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger struck out eight, while the Tigerettes scored one run in the second inning and one run in the 6th inning. Allison Maynard, Joni Robinson, and Emme Colwell all singled, and Kenzie France smacked a double.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Tigerettes then defeated Mount Juliet 3-0, scoring three runs on seven hits and making no errors. Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger allowed Mount Juliet only two hits.

 

The Tigerettes scored three runs in the 4th inning. Lexie Bates, Kenzie France, Joni Robinson, and Kristina Bain singled, Emme Colwell hit two singles, and Caplinger doubled.

 

DeKalb then lost a 4-3 game to Hardin Valley.

 

DeKalb scored three runs on five hits and committed three errors, while Hardin Valley scored four runs on five hits with one error.

 

Emme Colwell took the loss from the mound, giving up three runs in the first and one in the fourth. The Tigerettes scored two runs in the first and one run in the fourth inning. Lexie Bates, Joni Robinson, and Emme Colwell singled, and Kayley Caplinger hit a single and tripled.

 

The Tigerettes traveled to Macon County on April 18, and will return to Smithville to host Livingston Academy at 4:30 p.m. on April 20.
