The Tigerettes had a busy week mowing down the competition like the outfield grass at Danny Bond Field.
First the ladies from DCHS took Friendship Christian down 4-1 in Smithville Monday afternoon.
Winning pitcher Kayley Caplinger allowed one run on four hits, while the Tigerettes scored four runs on five hits, committing one error. Friendship drew first blood putting a run across in the third inning, but DeKalb tied the tally with a run in the fourth, then rallied for three in the sixth to ensure the win.
Allison Maynard led the Tigerettes at the plate with a homerun and a single. Kayley Caplinger doubled and Kenzie France hit two singles.
Caplinger struck out 11 Upperman Lady Bees on Tuesday, leading the Tigerettes to a 6-2 win in Baxter.
DeKalb put two runs across in the first and two runs in the fourth before Upperman with a run in the bottom of the fourth. The Tigerettes put two more across in the fifth, and the Lady Bees added one more in the sixth.
The Tigerettes scored six runs on nine hits, committing two errors. Upperman scored twice on five hits, recording one error.
Kenzie France, Megan Walker and Emme Colwell all smacked doubles in the contest. Joni Robinson rapped two singles, while Kayley Caplinger, Lexie Bates, Hannah Panter and Megan Walker hit a single each.
The Tigerettes then beat Smith County 11-1 in Carthage on Wednesday.
Emme Colwell took the win from the mound, allowing the Lady Owls one run on four hits.
DeKalb jumped out to a 7-0 led in the first inning, and scored two more in the second and fourth innings. Smith County managed a run in the bottom of the fourth.
The Tigerettes were hot at the plate, scoring eleven runs on fifteen hits. Colwell added another homer and two doubles to the books, and Kayley Caplinger hit a single and a double.
Megan Walker put in a double, while Lexie Bates, Allison Maynard and Joni Robinson two singles each. Kristena Bain, Hanah Panter and Kenzie France rounded out the Tigerette effort with singles.
DeKalb will host Upperman in Smithville at 4:30 p.m. on May 1, then begin district tournament play in Baxter on May 5.
