Members of the DeKalb County Tigers football squad and coaching staff have been bestowed with honors for the 2018 gridiron campaign.
In all, there were eight members of the Tigers, whose season ended recently in the first round of the state playoffs at Maplewood, who were named the elite group of Region 3-4A. Three of those were named most outstanding in their positions.
Isaac Cross was named Most Outstanding Lineman while Desmond Nokes was named Most Outstanding Returner. Tiger signal caller Axel Aldino was named Most Outstanding Quarterback.
Making first team all-region were Grayson Redmon, Isaac Knowles and Dylan Denson. Named second team all-region were David Bradford and Hunter Fann.
Meanwhile Special Teams Coach Thomas Cagle was named Most Outstanding Special Teams Coach in the region.
“It’s just always good for these guys to get some individual recognition,” Head Coach Steve Trapp noted. “Each one of them would probably say that if it weren’t for their teammates they wouldn’t have gotten those accolades.”
The Tigers went 3-8 overall during the 2018 season and made the playoffs for the 14th time in school history.
