A few of the DeKalb County High School Tigers football team have been honored with 2013 District 8AA awards. Individual players received awards for their performance on the field this season.
Eli Gill was named as 2013 Most Outstanding Defensive Lineman. Gill, number 73 on the field, is a 6’1", 342 pound senior, and shared the award with Brett Nash of Upperman.
Number 8, Aaron Patterson won the award for 2013 Most Outstanding Defensive Back. Patterson is a junior with the Tigers, who also plays basketball.
2013’s Most Outstanding Running Back was awarded to Devonta Milan. Milan, number 20 on the field, was junior running back and linebacker for the Tigers.
The 2013 Most Outstanding Quarterback award went to DeKalb’s own freshman QB, Steven Jennings. Number 2 on the field, Jennings played for the Saints last year, going on this year to lead the Tigers to a winning season.
Those named to DeKalb’s All District Team were 8AA 1st Team – Patrick Spare, Cameron Rhea, Lane Ball, and Hunter Stone.
For the 8AA 2nd Team – Jacob Hale and A.J. Mooneyham.
