The DeKalb County High School Tigers football team drew a large crowd at last Friday evening’s scrimmage at home against Friendship Christian. Though it was only a practice game, the team looked good with Quarterback Briz Trapp taking several reps and making some good throws.

Running back Brady Hale also had a few long runs, aided by some tough blocking by the offensive line. Isaac Knowles also went for some long passes, and overall both the running game and the passing game look promising this season.

After running several special teams’ drills, each team would play 10 plays on offense, then switch to defense. The scrimmage gave both teams some much needed field time against a real-time opponent.

The Tigers will be in Gordonsville this Saturday evening at 7 pm as they take part in a football jamboree. Several teams from around the area will be in attendance and will play one quarter each.
