On Dec. 9, the Tigers were on the road in Overton County to take on the Livingston Academy Wildcats. It would be a tough trip for DeKalb.

 

The Wildcats took the lead in the first period and would never look back. Livingston scored 14 points, while the Tigers were held to six, with Isaac Beck and Kevin Aldino each getting a three-pointers.

 

DeKalb came away with 15 points in the second period, with Beck and John Roller each getting a three-point basket. Aldino had a two-pointer and a free throw shot, while Aaron Haggard had two points from the free throw line. Justin Bone and Gentry Harpole each had a two-point shot. The Wildcats scored 16 points, taking a 30-21 lead at halftime.

 

The third period was all Haggard for the Tigers, with a pair of three-pointers and a two-point basket. He scored all eight points for DeKalb, while Livingston came away with 26 additional points. The Wildcats took a 56-29 lead.

 

The Tigers scored 15 to finish the game. Seth Wright had a three-pointer and two two-pointers, as well as three points from free throws. Andrew Cornelius had a three-pointer, while Marshal Evins had two points from the free throw line. Livingston capped off their win with 20 additional points, with a final score of Wildcats 76, Tigers 44.

 

Wright was three for four on free throws, while Evins and Haggard were each two for two. Aldino was one for one, while Noah Parsley was zero for one.

 

On Dec. 12, the Tigers were back on their home court, this time taking on the York Institute Dragons. DeKalb fell behind early, but would come back with the game ending in a nail-biter.

 

The Tigers scored 13 points in the first period, with Beck, Roller, and Evins each getting a three-pointer, while Bone got a two-pointer and two points from free throws. The Dragons had 21 points, taking the lead.

 

DeKalb came away with 15 points in the second period, with Wright getting a three-pointer and three points from free throws, while Beck got three free throw points. Bone got a two-pointer, while Cornelius got a three-point basket. Aldino added one point from a free throw. The Dragons scored 14 points, holding a 35-28 lead at halftime.

 

Bone was the big scorer in the third period, coming away with three two-pointers and five points from free throws. Beck had two free throw points and a two-pointer, while Harpole had a two-pointer and a free throw point. DeKalb scored 18, while holding the Dragons to seven. The Tigers took the lead, 46-42.

 

The Tigers scored 10 points in the fourth period, with Aldino and Haggard each getting a three-point basket, while Harpole and Roller each had a two-pointer. The Dragons came on with 15 points, taking the one-point victory, 57-56.

 

Bone was seven for nine on free throws, while Beck was five for six. Wright went three for four, while Aldino and Harpole each went one for two. Parsley was zero for two, while Roller was zero for one.

 

On Dec. 13, the Tigers took on a team from St. Andrews-Sewanee, and came away with a big win.

 

The Tigers jumped out with a huge lead in the first period, taking 22 points. Haggard had three three-pointers, while Bone came away with four two-point baskets. Beck also had a three-pointer, while Harpole took a two-point shot. Sewanee was held to six points.

 

DeKalb continued in the second period, getting 17 points. Beck had a pair of two-point shots and a free throw point, while Bone had a couple of points from free throws and a two-point basket. Haggard had a three-pointer and two free throw points, while Parsley had a two-pointer. Wright had one point from a free throw. Sewanee came one, getting 16 points. DeKalb kept the lead at the half, 39-22.

 

The Tigers had 18 points in the third period, with Beck getting a pair of two-pointers and a three-pointer, while Harpole got three two-pointers and a couple of free throws. Aldino had a two-pointer, while Bone added a free throw shot. Sewanee had 12 points, giving DeKalb a 57-34 lead.

 

DeKalb finished the game with 16 points, with Harpole getting a pair of two-point baskets, and Parsley getting a two-pointer and two points from free throws. Beck had a two-point shot and a free throw, while Bone had a three-pointer. Roller had two free throw shots. Sewanee came in with 23 points, giving DeKalb a 73-57 victory.

 

Bone was three for seven on free throws, while Beck and Harpole were each two for four. Haggard and Roller were each two for two, while Parsley was two for three. Wright was one for two.
