The DCHS Tiger basketball Most Valuable Players, as well as the Most Valuable Cheerleader for the 2015-16 season, were recognized at the team’s annual banquet Thursday night.
Senior Noah Parsley took the Tiger MVP award, Senior Jailyn Bolding was named the most valuable Lady Tiger, and Senior Chloe White received MVC honors.
Parsley also went home with Best Defender and Best Passer awards, as well as the Hustle Award. Bolding, who received an All District Honorable Mention and was named to the All-District Defensive Team this season, took the Hustle Award for the Lady Tigers, and was recognized as Best Ball Handler and Defensive MVP.
White not only took the MVC award, but was the recipient of the Most Spirit honor as well.
Marshal Evins was named Best Offensive Player for the Tigers, as well as Best Free Throw Shooter, Best Ball Handler and Smartest Player, and he received an All District Honorable Mention this season.
Tanner Poss was selected as Best Athlete and Best Practice Player, and was chosen for the All District Freshman Team.
Gentry Harpole was named Best Rebounder and received an All District Honorable Mention.
Colter Norris took the Best Sixth Man award, while Austin Johnson was named Most Improved Player. Trey Jones received the Best Attitude award.
For the Lady Tigers, Ashli Chew took the Offensive MVP award, the Best Free Throw award, and Best Rebounder. Chew was named to the First Team All-District, and scored well over 1000 points in her high school career.
Jailyn Bolding took the Lady Tiger Hustle Award, was named Best Ball Handler, received an All District Honorable Mention, and was chosen for the All-District Defensive Team.
Morgan Pedigo was named Best Passer, Best Three Point Shooter, and also recorded more than 1000 points in her high school career.
Joni Robinson took the Coaches Award and was named to the All-District Freshman Team.
Macy Hedge received the Lady Tiger Award and was chosen for the All-District Freshman Team as well.
Hannah Panter took Most Athletic honors, while Maddison Parsley was named Most Improved.
Olivia Winter was named Most Improved cheerleader, while Zoe Maynard was recognized for Best Jumps.
The Best Backspot award went to Aspen Flarity, and Jennifer Caplinger was named Best Base.
Kaitlin Rhea took the Best Dance award, Brooklynn Estes was named Best Flier, and the Best Attitude honor went to Azya McCoy.
Amelia Patterson took this year’s STAR (Spirit, Team, Attitude, Respect) Award.
