The DeKalb County High School Tigers football team continued its preparation for the upcoming 2024 season by hosting a scrimmage game with York Institute last Friday afternoon. The scrimmage was in full pads though hard tackles were limited.
The practice game began with special teams play, with each team going through kickoff returns, punting, PATs, and field goal exercises. The teams then went on to offense and defense plays with live tackling.
The Tigers will travel to Friendship Christian on Friday, August 9, and will have another home scrimmage against Providence Christian on August 13, followed by a match against Clay County at the Gordonsville Jamboree on August 16.
The Tigers will open up their regular season on August 23, at home as they host the Warren County Pioneers.
