The DeKalb County Tigers faced Friendship Christian in a scrimmage game Friday night after holding a Ford Drive 4UR School event and a family BBQ earlier in the afternoon.

 

While no score was kept, the Tigers looked strong against FC. The DeKalb offense put together several passes for touchdowns, and the defense stood tight against the opposition.

 

The Ford Drive event was a success, with Tiger fans lined up to test drive new Ford vehicles. A donation to the football program was made every time a car is driven.

 

The Tigers will travel to participate in the Watertown Jamboree this Saturday evening, and football season will begin Aug. 19 with a three-game home stand, starting with DCHS facing the Warren County Pioneers. Stone Memorial will come to Vanhooser Stadium on Aug. 26, and York Institute will visit on Sept. 2. The Tigers will then play three road games, at Cumberland County on Sept. 9, at Smith County on Sept. 16, and at Macon County on Sept. 23.

 

The Tigers will return home to host Sequatchie County on Sept. 30 and then will travel to Grundy County on Oct. 7. DeKalb will play at home against the Upperman Bees on Oct. 21 will travel to Cannon County on Oct. 28 to wrap up the regular season. All games start at 7 p.m.
