The DCHS Tiger basketball team lost the first round of the District 8 AA Basketball Tournament in an overtime nailbiter that saw DeKalb eliminated from the tourney in a 50-48 loss. The game, played at Hooper-Eblen Center on the Tennessee Tech campus in Cookeville was a wallbanger, with DeKalb edging out a 13-11 lead at the end of the first, and Smith coming back to take the lead 24-21 at the half. DeKalb again held a two-point advantage at the end of the third, 34-32, but a fourth-period battle ended with the score tied at 40 points each.
