Tigers Soccer Battles for District Championship

The Tiger Soccer team won 2-1 against Stone Memorial last week in the District 6 AA Semifinals.

The first goal was scored by Miguel Mata and assisted by Cameron Miller in the 30th minute of the 1st half. The second goal was scored by Ryder Miller on a corner kick played in by Miguel Mata in the 16th minute of the second half.

The Tigers went a man down with 22 minutes left in the game when Miguel Mata received his second yellow card. Fighting hard with only ten men, the Tigers held on to advance to the Championship. Goalkeeper Connor Vance had 9 saves on the night.

In their next game, on Thursday against Cumberland County, they played for the District Championship at White County Middle School. There, the team fell to their old nemesis Cumberland County, 1-0.

The team travels to Clinton, Tennessee, near Knoxville for the Regional Semifinals on Tuesday, May 16.
