The DCHS Tigers Soccer team was on the field last week, falling in one game on the road, then getting a big win.
0n Mar. 18, the Tigers were on the road in Warren County where they took on the Pioneers. Warren struck first, gaining a goal 22 minutes into the game, then another four minutes before halftime.
DeKalb’s Micah Merriman put the Tigers on the board nine minutes into the second half, with an assist by Brandon Leiser. Leiser would get his own goal, with an assist by Eli Lomas six minutes later, but so would the Pioneers. Warren County was up, 3-2.
The Tigers battled through the rest of the game, but they would not be able to keep the Pioneers out of the net two more times. Warren would strike again 58 minutes into the game, and once more 68 minutes into play. The Pioneers took the win, 5-2.
DeKalb’s Goalkeeper, Skylar Pease, had seven saves during the game.
On Mar. 21 the Tigers were again on the road, this time facing a team from York.
Eli Lomas was the top scorer of the game, coming away with four goals. Brandon Leiser had two goals, while Miguel Ramirez had one. Ramirez was also credited with an assist, with Geovani Guzman getting five assists, and Corey Ferrell one.
York would only manage one goal during the game, with the DeKalb goalies getting a total of 14 saves. Pease had seven, while Jonathon Munoz also had seven saves. DeKalb took the victory, 8-1.
