The DCHS Tiger baseball team suffered their first loss of the season March 27 with a 14-2 stinging by the Upperman Bees.After jumping out to an early 2-0 lead after the first inning the Bees scored six runs in both the fourth and sixth innings to drop the Tigers to 7-1 for the season.Tiger's starting pitcher Cody Puckett, who surrendered eight runs, took the loss, his first of the season.Puckett struck out two while surrendering three walks through three and one-third innings.Reliever Chase Hoke came in for two innings, giving up three runs on two hits while striking out two. John Roller pitched two-thirds of an inning, also surrendering three runs on three hits with one walk.Offensively, the Tigers were led by Evan Curtis with two hits followed by Seth Stanley and Hunter Graham each recording one hit.On Thursday, the Tigers traveled to Baxter for a rematch with the Upperman Bees.The Tigers got an RBI each from A.J. Mooneyham and Steven Page to take a 2-1 lead going into the bottom of the seventh innings.With two outs, a two-run error by the Tigers sent the home crowd into a frenzy as the Bees came from behind to claim a 3-2 victory and sweep the Tigers for the season.Starter Hunter Graham pitched six and two-thirds innings, giving up eight hits and five walks while striking out 10.Offensively, the Tigers struggled, scoring two runs on just two hits.DeKalb committed four errors in their second consecutive loss of the season.
