Tigers take down Cannon Lions

The DeKalb County Tiger basketball team took down the visiting Cannon County Lions 55-42 last week.

 

In the Tigers’ Jan. 19 matchup, Cannon edged by DeKalb in a 12-10 first period. The tigers exploded with 20 points in the second, however, taking a 30-22 lead at the half after holding the Lions to 10 points in the period.

 

DeKalb held onto the lead in the third period, outpacing Cannon 13-10, and enjoying a 43-32 advantage going into the final period of the game. The Tigers scored 12 points in the final period, and allowed Cannon to add 10 to their tally. DeKalb took the win.

 

Marshal Evins led the Tigers scorecard, putting 18 points on the board for DeKalb. Gentry Harpole and Austin Johnson put in 14 points each, and Tanner Poss scored five. Colter Norris and Noah Parsley added two points each to the DCHS score.
