The DCHS Tiger baseball team swept two games with Livingston Monday and Tuesday night.

In the first game, the Tigers faced the Wildcats in Smithville on Monday, and a swarm of major league scouts with radar guns in hand came to witness Steven Jennings perform on the mound. Jennings did not disappoint, striking out 13 Wildcats and allowing only one earned run and three hits.

The Tigers won 4-2, with DeKalb taking a 2-0 lead in the second inning, and both teams adding a run each in the fourth and sixth. DeKalb scored four runs on nine hits, committing two errors.

Logan Cornelius hit two singles and a double, batting in two runs for DeKalb, while Lee Randolph singled twice. Jacob Self, Grayson Redmon both doubled, and John Maynard added a single and a double.

The Tigers improved by a run in the second contest, taking the Wildcats down 5-2 Tuesday night in Livingston.

DeKalb scored all five runs in the first inning of the game, buoyed by singles from Colter Norris, Paxton Butler, and Brady Hughes. LA put one across in the second and another in the sixth, but could not make up the deficit.

John Maynard took the win on the mound, striking out 10 and giving up four hits. The Tigers scored five runs on eight hits, committing no errors. Lee Randolph smacked a single and a double, while Brady Hughes put two singles in. Christian Pruitt hammered a double.

The Tigers face the White County Warriors in Smithville on April 14, then will travel to Macon County on April 17 before returning home to meet Macon again on April 18.
