The Trousdale County Yellow Jackets traveled to Smithville Thursday night to make up a game that was snowed out earlier in the month only to suffer a 60-45 defeat at the hands of the Tigers.
DeKalb, with both Bradley Miller and Gentry Harpole on the injured list, edged by the team from Hartsville 17-15 in the first period, and increased their lead to 29-24 by the halftime buzzer. The Yellow Jackets rallied to a 41-38 lead in the third, but the Tigers bounded back in the fourth to take a 15-point lead and the win.
Tanner Poss scored 14 points in the contest, while Trey Jones followed closely with 12. Marshal Evins put 11 points in the basket, Colter Norris recorded nine, Chandler Vincent eight, and Austin Johnson added six.
The Tigers will travel to Cannon County Friday night to face border rivals the Lions and Lionettes. Tipoff for the ladies is 6 p.m.
