John Maynard didn't allow a single run as DeKalb County Tigers Varsity defeated York Institute 10-0 on Monday.

The DCHS Tiger Baseball team hosted the York Institute Dragons in a six-inning game, resulting in a 10-0 win.

In the first inning of the game, the Tigers got three outs right off the bat with Junior, John Maynard pitching. In the first inning up to bat, Lee Randolph and Colter Norris both struck out. Next up to bat, Jacob Self hit a hard ball to center field, yielding a double. But Christian Pruitt struck out, ending the first inning at 0-0.

Pitching for the Tigers in the second innings was Maynard with Jacob Self catching, Lee Randolph on first, Luke Oliver playing second, Colter Norris at short stop and Grayson Redmon on third. In the outfield was Logan Cornelius in left-field, Christian Pruitt at center, and Paxton Butler in right.

The defense didn't allow one of the York Institute Dragons to get on base.

With the Tigers at bat, John Maynard made it to first. Next, Brady Hughes also hit a single, advancing Maynard to second.

The next batter, Paxton Butler, was hit in the face with a pitch in the face, resulting in the bases loaded. With Hunter Jennings running for John Maynard, Logan Cornelius struck out but the Dragon pitcher dropped the ball, allowing Jennings to score.

With a sacrifice bunt by Grayson Redmon was thrown out at first, allowing Brady Hughes to score.

Back to the top of the lineup, Lee Randolph hits a hard double and with a bad pitch to Colter Norris, Randolph stole third base. With Colter Norris up to bat, the ball rolled behind the pitcher resulting in Randolph stealing home. The second inning ended with the Tigers leading 3-0.

With the game continuing, the Tigers won over the York Dragons 10-0 in a mercy rule in the sixth inning. The Tigers are now undefeated at 4-0.
