Back-to-back Cody Antoniak and Isaac Knowles home runs were enough to break the spirit of the visiting Bees this past week after the Tigers concluded the regular season with an 11-1 thrashing of Upperman.
The Bees were only able to muster three hits and were unable to take advantage of four DeKalb fielding errors as the Tigers scored in all five innings of the contest while Logan Cornelius shut the Bees down from the mound, striking out five on the day. Patrick Cantrell came in and relieved him in the last inning and fanned one himself.
The back-to-back homers in the third put the game way out of reach as that set the score at 7-0 going into the fourth inning where Upperman would get their only run. Derek Young led the Tigers in offense, going three-for-four from the dish, batting in four RBIs. Isaac Knowles was two-for-two while Colter Norris and Daniel Pucket both knocked in two runners. Pucket, Derek Young and Nathaniel Dace all swiped bases for the Tigers.
